Watchmaking Workshop: Introduction to Disassembly and Reassembly of a Mechanical Watch and its Movement

Dive into the heart of watchmaking with our practical course dedicated to the complete disassembly and reassembly of a mechanical watch, in a friendly and fully equipped setting, under the supervision of Vincent, co-founder of ALB

Course content:

  • Welcome and presentation of the ALB brand and creations
  • Visit of the Workshop and presentation of tools and equipment
  • Presentation of the history of watchmaking up to the modern mechanical watch
  • Explanation of the functions and components of the ETA 6497/6498 movement: mainspring, gears, escapement, regulation, adjustment, etc.
  • Disassembling the watch: bracelet, case, winder, hands, dial, removing the movement
  • Disassembling the watch movement
  • Principles of cleaning
  • Winding the movement and oiling principles
  • Movement adjustment
  • Leak test
  • Recommendations and advice for purchasing watchmaking equipment and components

Course details:

  • Duration: 8 hours, simple meal at the workshop included in the package
  • Format: Face-to-face workshop
  • Level: Accessible to all, no prior knowledge necessary
  • Location: Vincent ’s workshop in Carlipa (1 hour from Toulouse), between Castelnaudary and Carcassonne
  • When: weekends, by appointment.
  • Number of participants: one person, two on request.
  • After purchase, you will receive an invitation card valid for 18 months to give to us at the start of the workshop.
  • Course support provided to review the content of the initiation.
  • Language: French
